Let’s pick it back up…

Thanks for joining me!

Why did I start blogging again?

I had a blog several months ago. I fell in love with it, but for the wrong reasons (HA, it’s like everyone on the #Bachelor). I fell in love with blogging because I loved the excitement it came with it whenever I’d get a new reader. I wanted the fame, the product endorsements, and the money. I simply wanted to get paid. After a while, I realized that wasn’t very satisfying because I wasn’t getting any recognition. And that’s when it hit me. I wasn’t getting any recognition BECAUSE I only wanted the fame.

And it really discouraged me in the writing sense.

So why did I start blogging again? Because I need a space to come to where I can put down my thoughts. If anyone happens to stop by and want to read what is going on in my head, then that’s great but this blog is for me. I am blogging for me. People might come by and think it’s stupid or I’m just asking for attention—if that’s the case and if you’re reading this right now thinking that, then shove off, Malfoy. I also started blogging because I love to write. When my first blog failed, I felt really discouraged. I thought I couldn’t write anymore. I stuck to writing listicles on Odyssey’s website and didn’t have the heart to write any personal, storytelling articles anymore.

But you wanna know a secret? Failure is everything. In life, you’re gonna fail. Whether it’s an exam or you missed out on your dream job, failure is inevitable. I failed at a blog. I felt embarrassed after that, especially after I told everyone I was starting a blog. I felt embarrassed because I told people that I was going to start a blog and actually stick to it…and then I didn’t.

Things happen. You fail. But don’t let that discourage you. Don’t let that stop you from chasing your dreams. What’s that saying…Thomas Edison tried 2,000 times to invent the light bulb and failed?? Something a little like that. If you have a dream, don’t let one mistake or one failure stop you from reaching that dream. Only you are in the way of achieving your dream. It’s time to open up the floodgates and start making a dream into a reality.

You are strong, and so capable of many wonderful things.
