I have a hard time writing posts. In fact, right before I started writing this post, I caught myself staring at a blank, empty WordPress screen. Fun.
I get stuck trying to write about different areas of content for my blog. I get writer’s block. And how do I cope with that? I procrastinate. Or the fancier term I like to use is, “taking a break.” But in reality, I really do procrastinate.
And what about the times when I’m not trying to write? What do you mean, Olivia? I’m talking about the times when I’m feeling stuck in other areas of my life like finding a job and finding my “passion.”
To the girls feeling stuck: I have a promise for you.
You are not alone.
You are not alone in your struggles, even though it may seem that way. Trust me when I say this, there are other girls out there who are in the same exact position you are in. There’s a season in every girl’s life that they may feel unloved by friends or family or unworthy of their dream job/internship. Girl, I’m here to tell you that you are loved. You are worthy. Just because you’re in this season of feeling stuck, doesn’t mean you’ll be there forever. Lassie wasn’t stuck in a well forever.
“…continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling, for it is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfill his good purpose.”Philippians 2:13
When you’re in your room alone, trying to get to sleep by listening to slow music jams, and you wanna cry, don’t. Pick up His Word. Pick up a journal. Start writing. Whatever is on your mind. Turn to any page in the Bible and start reading. Because I promise you — you’ll feel better. You’ll realize that this season of feeling stuck doesn’t last forever.
You’ll also realize that you’re not alone in this season. There are PLENTY of girls out there who are constantly questioning their identities, self-worth, and values. Don’t look to them, though. Look to your Creator for your identity. When you feel stuck, look to your Creator because He can pick you up and help you get out of this season. He knows your whole life. He has your whole life mapped out like you’re Dora the Explorer and he’s the map. You anxiously call out the map’s name — wanting God to answer. He will answer, my friend. He will answer.
“When anxiety was great within me, your consolation brought me joy.”Psalm 94:19
It is truly incredible how overwhelming His love can be. He loves you so much He sent his only son to Earth to die for you. And what do we repay him with? Questioning his plan? No, no. Not anymore. From now on, I am putting my full hope in God that I will be successful. No more doubting His plans for me. Because I know he does have plans for me, I have faith. I don’t need to see
To the girls who are feeling stuck: look to your Creator. He has great plans for you. You might be in this season of feeling stuck, but I promise you: God has got you. Don’t doubt Him.
